Welcome to the 2025 Lacrosse Season!

I am excited to be your new head coach, and I look forward to a fantastic season ahead. To those of you I had the privilege of coaching last year, I’m eager to get to know you better and help you grow. And to those of you new to Waunakee High School Lacrosse—welcome to your team! I can’t wait meet you and help you develop as players, teammates, and individuals while having fun and competing together.

I truly believe lacrosse is the greatest sport, and you are fortunate to play it. It is an honor for me to coach you on this journey.

I’m also thrilled to introduce our coaching staff—a dedicated and passionate group committed to helping you become the best team possible:

• Coach Samantha Hurd – Many of you know Coach Sam from youth lacrosse. She brings extensive experience as both a coach and a player at the highest level of college lacrosse.
• Coach Lexi Kaltenberg – Coach Lexi coached last year and is a former Waunakee Warrior who played four years at Carroll University. She has quickly proven to be a natural leader and coach.
• Coach Sydney Walters – Also returning from last season, Coach Sydney is another proud Waunakee Warrior alum who played at the college level. She brings her love of the game to every practice and competition.
• Coach Sara Rose – Coach Sara played high school lacrosse at Mukwonago High School before her college career at The University of Dubuque.  We are excited that Coach Sara is bringing her deep knowledge of the game back to Waunakee.

As coaches, we are committed to bringing our knowledge, dedication, and love of the game every day to help you reach your full potential.

I have always said that magic happens when the whole becomes greater than the sum of the parts.  Each one of you is a valuable part of this team and as we get to know, respect and trust one another we can be more than the sum of each of us.

This is OUR TIME, let’s make the most of it.  I will see you on OUR TURF.
